Keynote SpeakerDr Rachel Carling-Jenkins is a member for Western Metropolitan in the upper house of the Victorian Parliament. Rachel is the 55th parliamentarian of the Democratic Labour Party (at state or federal level) and is the first female parliamentarian in the Party’s history. Rachel has worked in the welfare sector for around 20 years and holds a PhD in social sciences, where she studied social movements supporting people with disabilities, Indigenous Australians and women in Australia. |

Dr Watts, born and raised in Cameroon, is a Lecturer in Community Health at the College of Health and Biomedicine at Victoria University. Dr Watts is an expert on refugee and minority group health and has published widely in the areas of health and cultural and linguistic diversity. |
